Issa M. Al Mohannadi

HE Mr. Issa Bin Mohammad AlMohannadii, Chairman of the Qatar Tourism Authority, heads one of the world’s most exciting and progressive tourism organisations. Charged with managing and developing Qatar’s growing tourism industry, his international business background and project management ability will serve QTA well in its articulation of a new dynamic strategy for the State of Qatar’s tourism growth.

In addition to his Chairmanship of QTA, HE Mr. Issa Bin Mohammad AlMohannadi occupies a number of distinguished posts with both public and private entities in Qatar, and sits on the Board of Qatar Airways, DFI and Brawa Properties.

Prior to taking up his post with Qatar Tourism Authority in May 2012, HE Mr. Issa Bin Mohammad AlMohannadi was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of the Qatar Foundation, and one of the world’s most progressive real estate companies, promoting sustainability in visionary architecture and heritage preservation in Qatar. Additionally, he is the founder and chairperson of the Qatar Green Building Council, which actively promotes sustainability in the local construction industry, as it works towards formal membership of the World Green Building Council.

HE Mr. Issa Bin Mohammad AlMohannadi has been an influential figure at the Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company, where he drove key initiatives such as the Ras Laffan Helium Project, the LNG Venture Terminal Business Group, and the RasGas Capital Projects Department and has received much recognition for his contribution to Qatar’s rapidly growing business community, including the title of Property Development CEO of the Year at the 7th Middle East CEO of the Year Awards, organised by the Middle East Institute of Excellence in 2010.

HE Mr. Issa Bin Mohammad AlMohannadi has a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas and has certified specialised training in project management from George Washington University, in Washington D.C.

Mrs. Rasha K. Al-Sulaiti - Vice Chair

Projects Management Director at the Capital Projects, Qatar Foundation

Rasha K. Al-SultaitiRasha Al Sulaiti is the Projects Management Director at the Capital Projects Directorate of Qatar Foundation (QF). She has ten years of experience; she worked on more than 50 projects of various levels and in various stages of design and construction on the Education City project in the Qatar Foundation.

Rasha is the Vice chairperson of the board of trustee for Qatar Green Building Council and a member of Qatar Engineering Society in Doha. She is an international associate member of the American Institute of Architects, DC, USA; international member of the Architectural Association, London and an international member of SAVE international, Dayton, Ohio, USA. Rasha received her Associate Value Specialist Certificate from SAVE International, in Dayton, Ohio USA and her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from United Arab Emirates University, in Al-Ain, UAE, and her Executive MBA from HEC Paris in Qatar.

Ibrahim Mohamed Jaidah

Chief Executive Officer/Chief Architect, Arab Engineering Bureau

Ibrahim Mohamed Jaidah ranks as a pioneer of a new architectural movement which combines the far reaching influences of Islamic art with modern style, creating memorable landmark structures that are helping to shape the developing State of Qatar.

Ibrahim Jaidah graduated from the University of Oklahoma (USA) in 1988 and had worked for Qatar’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Agriculture as Head of the Architectural Section before acquiring Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB) in 1991.

Under his leadership, AEB has evolved into a leading architectural design consultancy operating across the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Ibrahim Jaidah has personally overseen more than 1500 projects, which his firm has completed since 1991. In each project, Ibrahim Jaidah attempts to retain the identity of his culture, embrace the modern, and present the true potential and ambition of both, Qatar and AEB. His focus on vernacular architecture has brought a new dimension to architectural field in the region. His projects are considered to reflect cultural, historical and environmental context in which they exist.

His commitment to cultural awareness and growth, and his passion for research have resulted in publishing of a book titled “History of Qatari Architecture” in January 2010. The book is intended to become main referential material as well as it is to be used for educational purposes. This book is a part of Ibrahim Jaidah’s legacy and is dedicated to those who have built the unique buildings of the past and to those who strive to become great architects.

He is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and experience with the new generations of architects and designers, providing grants at Virginia Commonwealth University as well as being a frequent speaker at universities, conferences and jury member for international architectural awards.

Ibrahim Jaidah is highly qualified and recognized architect who has won numerous awards such as Islamic Cities award, Arab Town Organization Awards and has been nominated for Agha Khan Award 3 times. In 2005 Ibrahim Jaidah was honored with the State of Qatar Encouragement Award.

In his work Ibrahim Jaidah is focused on delivering buildings and developments that are helping establish Qatar as a benchmark for world-class architecture. He is a dedicated advocate for sustainability and is a co-founding member of Qatar Green Building Council.

Eng. Ahmad Al Abdulla

Eng. Ahmad Al Abdulla – Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Barwa

Eng. Ahmad Al Abdulla heads the Barwa Real Estate as Group Deputy CEO overviewing the Management and Engineering functions for Barwa projects. He is fully responsible to develop the master plan, design and execute the infrastructure for all project developments – using cutting-edge technology in building sustainable infrastructures


Al-Abdulla is a certified electrical engineer who brings with him 19 years of experience in the energy sector. He was previously employed as Chief Technical Officer at Tanween W.L.L., Deputy CEO of Energy City Qatar (ECQ), and as Technical Director of Kahrama where he gained substantial experience in the implementation of many major projects and more than 100 infrastructure projects around Qatar worth more than US$ 25 Billion. Al-Abdulla also has a vast amount of international work experience, including projects he planned, designed, and executed in Libya and India during his time at ECQ.

Over the course of his career, Al-Abdulla has been actively engaged in volunteer work with science and engineering societies, regularly organizing and attending seminars, lectures, and conference. Possessing dedicated interest in engineering and the sustainable development of Qatar, he is also a Founding Member of both the Qatar Engineering Society and Qatar Green Building Council.


Eng. Ahmad Al Abdulla obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1990 from University of Miami, USA and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1992 from the George Washington University, DC USA.

Saif S Al Naimi

Director of HSE Regulations and Enforcement Directorate

Mr. Saif S Al Naimi, Director of HSE Regulations and Enforcement Directorate - Qatar Petroleum, is vested with the responsibilities for regulating and enforcing the implementation, compliance with applicable State laws, convention, treaties and protocol related to the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) in the Energy and Industry Sector.

As the Director of HSE Regulations and Enforcement his present responsibilities include liaison with the national, regional and international institutions/organisations in relation to conventions, treaties, protocols and agreements related to HSE issues and sustainable development and also to develop and maintain synergies between HSE local regulations and international developments.

As the Director of HSE Regulations & Enforcement, Mr. Saif’s vision involves to assure that risks from major industrial activities will be regulated and controlled. As a HSE regulator our aim vests to provide 'independent' assurance to society, governments, and industry that companies have identified the risks to health, safety and environment and have put appropriate measures in place to control these risks.

He is a graduate in Chemical Engineering from Qatar University. After graduation, he joined QP in the year 1991 and worked in various capacities. Prior to his current position, he was Manager of the Corporate Quality and Management Systems and was responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Management Systems and its development throughout the Corporation.

In addition to the above, Mr. Saif Al-Naimi holds membership in different national, regional and international committees.

Ahmad Jassim Al Jolo

Chairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers

Eng. Ahmad Jassim Al Jolo is Chairman of the Qatar Society of Engineers and a Founding Member of the Qatar Green Building Council, American Architectural Engineering Institution and Gulf Engineering Forum. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Seattle University, USA since 1984. He is the former Chairman of Professional Engineers Committee at the Ministry of Municipality.

Eng. Ahmad has more than 27 years of experience in the construction sector, 25 of which were at managerial level. Closely involved in the field of education, Ahmad is a member of the Technical and Development committees at Texas A&M- Qatar and the Technical Committee for Civil Engineering at Qatar University. Not only that, he is also a key speaker at these universities and at various engineering conferences. Ahmad holds memberships with the American Society of Civil Engineers and American Structural Engineering Institution. He has been a judge for the MEED quality award for various projects. Ahmed received the Construction Week award for ‘Engineer of the Year’ earlier this year.

Jassim Mohammed Telefat

Group Executive Director
Capital Projects & Facilities Management

Jassim Telefat holds the position of Group Executive Director for Capital Projects & Facilities Management in Qatar Foundation. Since joining Qatar Foundation (QF), Jassim has been involved in a range of projects to create state-of-the-art facilities across the organization. His focus has been on creating an environment where students, staff and businesses can thrive, enabling them to make the strongest possible contribution to Qatar’s journey from a carbon-based economy to a knowledge-based economy. Jassim currently has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and implementation of all QF’s Projects, including the continued development of the Foundation’s infrastructure.

Jassim is a Founder member of the Qatar Society of Engineers and a Founder and a Treasurer of the Qatar Building Council. He holds a BArch from Kansas State University and has been certified as an Associated Value Specialist by SAVE International, as well as being a LEED Accredited Professional by the US Green Building Council.

Jassim is fluent in both English and Arabic.

Meshal Al Shamari

Director, Qatar Green Building Council

Eng. Meshal Al Shamari worked for over 13 years in the oil and petroleum industry, accumulating invaluable experience in project management, leadership and business development. His work as a Lead Project Engineer at Qatar Petroleum proved vital to Qatar’s oil and petroleum industry as he successfully led several key projects, including buildings, infrastructure, land development, pipelines, roads and landscaping.

Meshal has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Qatar University, and has pursued numerous courses in project management at Arizona State University and University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of SAVE International and of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has completed a certification of Associate Value Specialist (AVS) at SAVE International.

Meshal became the director of Qatar Green Building Council in 2012. He is dedicated to leading QGBC towards building a culture of sustainability for Qatar and the region by promoting and raising awareness of environmentally and socially-responsible building practices among the industry and the public.
